I. GENERAL INFORMATION:
FACILITY NAME: Town of Tabor City Collection System
RESPONSIBLE ENTITY: Town of Tabor City, PO Drawer 655, Tabor City, NC 28463
PERSON IN CHARGE: Donald James, ORC Collection System
DESCRIPTION OF SYSTEM: Class III Gravity Collection system consisting of gravity collection lines and 9
primary lift stations monitored and inspected by the Town staff daily.
IL During the 2018 calendar year, the system transmitted an average of 475,000 gallons per day of
wastewater to the treatment plant. Approximately 150,000 gallons of wastewater per day was
transmitted from the state correctional facility to the Grand Strand Water and Sewer Authority for
treatment. There was a large, undetermined amount of wastewater that spilled and overflowed in
response to Hurricane Florence (Sept 14-16). This was a result of heavy rainfall and a large amount of
rainwater entering the collection system.
