In accordance with this determination we are also rescinding your NPDES Stormwater Permit Number NCG020067 for stormwater and wastewater discharge. Stormwater NPDES Permit Number NCG020067 is rescinded effective immediately. Operating a treatment facility, discharging wastewater or discharging specific types of stormwater to waters of the State without valid coverage under an NPDES permit is against federal and state laws and could result in fines. If something changes and your facility would again require stormwater or wastewater discharge permit coverage, you should notify this office immediately. We will be happy to assist you in assuring the proper permit coverage. If the facility is in the process of being sold, you will be performing a public service if you would inform the new or prospective owners of their potential need for NPDES permit coverage. The mine is an existing mine that has a permit to enlarge the operation. Deborah and myself have discussed this project with Mi. Bizzell and his proposed plan is what we discussed. The pump and monitoring plan proposes to dewater to approximately twenty feet and dump the water into a rim ditch that will distribute the groundwater over the entire area of the wetlands. The mine site is surrounded by surface water on three sides. American materials proposes to install a well to gage the hydraulics. After site visits and discussions with other staff, we do not believe that this mining activity will have an adverse impact on the isolated wetlands if they follow their pump and monitoring plan. This office recommends that the Pump and Monitoring Plan be approved as is for now. oo(o 7 enclosures Copy: WaRO WaRO Land Quality - 5 a EgP22 r.'11 V!f-rrt towater and General Permits Unit a (X) A ,►u,;l Nm + Very._ - - - Iht 1 i Lk)e'41 CM Isµ I'nJ C1 ti iA erytrr 943 Washington Square Mall, Washington.
