Certificate Coverage No. NCG210078 Subject: Semi -Annual Stormwater Discharge Monitoring Report Dear Sir or Madam: ,Enclosed are the original and one copy of the West Fraser Seaboard Lumber Mill Semi -Annual Storrmwater, Report. Mill construction has altered stormwater flow and vehicle traffic flow in some areas. There has also been an increase in vehicle traffic in some areas too. Outfall 00 1 stormwater continues to comingle with stormwater and process water from the Carolina Bark facility before discharging from outfall 001. Sample 001 A is stormwater sampling before water comingles with the bark plant discharge waters and our search for an alternate sampling location to Outfall 001. `If additional information is needed, please contact James Barham, EHS Supervisor at (252) 589-8265 or email james.barham @wetsfraser.com. Sincerely, James Barham Environmental, Health and Safety West Fraser, Inc. Seaboard Lumber Mill STORMWATER SAMPLING Outfall 001 is located west of West Fraser Lumber, crosses beneath Bluejay Trail Rd, and receives comingled stormwater from the Carolina Bark Plant and our site. Additionally, the bark plant continually spray and saturate acres of processed bark 24 hours day. The wastewater from the bark spraying is also discharged through outfall 001 24 horus per day. The water from outfall 001 is comingled with another section from the Carolina Bark Plant west of Bluejay Trail road, containing acres and mounds of processed bark sprayed and sprinkled with water too. The stormwater and Carolina Bark process water empties into a retention/holding pond on the western end of the Carolina Bark plant and generally discharged to the Seaboard POTW. Suggest a new outfall located on the sawmill site (#001 A) before waters have a chance to comingle with Carolina Bark product and wastewater. Outfall 001A is more realistic to water being discharged from the site. Wherein outfall 001 has water flow 24 hours a day, outfall 001A only has discharge during a storm event. Sampling during this sampling period had heavy rain in a short period of time and thus higher readings as samples could not be collected in the first 30 minutes of rainfall. Additionally, the bark plant continually spray and saturate acres of processed bark 24 hours day. The wastewater from the bark spraying is also discharged through outfall 001 24 horus per day. The water from outfall 001 is comingled with another section from the Carolina Bark Plant west of Bluejay Trail road, containing acres and mounds of processed bark sprayed and sprinkled with water t too. The stormwater and Carolina Bark process water empties into a detention/holding pond on the western end of the Carolina Bark plant and generally discharged to the Seaboard POTW. The water from outfall 001 is comingled with another section from the Carolina Bark Plant west of Bluejay Trail road, containing acres and mounds of processed bark sprayed and sprinkled with water too. The stormwater and Carolina Bark process water empties into a detention/holding pond on the western end of the Carolina Bark plant and generally discharged to the Seaboard POTW. Suggest a new outfall located on the sawmill site (#001A) before waters have a chance to comingle with Carolina Bark product and wastewater.
