Report (DMR) for stormwater monitoring at the Waste Industries, LLC - Garner Transfer
Station. The site is located in Garner, North Carolina. The facility is permitted to discharge
stormwater related to activities that have Vehicle Maintenance Areas under the NPDES
program by the General Permit No. 080000 (permit), issued by the North Carolina
Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water Quality (DWQ).
Please note that discharge samples were obtained from Outfall 1 and Outfall 2.

Dear Sir/Madam:
Smith + Gardner (S+G) is pleased to submit this Year Two, Period 1 Discharge Monitoring
Report (DMR) for stormwater monitoring at the Waste Industries, LLC — Garner Transfer
Station. The site is located in Garner, North Carolina. The facility is permitted to discharge
stormwater related to activities that have Vehicle Maintenance Areas under the NPDES
program by the General Permit No. 080000 (permit), issued by the North Carolina
Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water Quality IDWQ).
Please note that discharge samples were obtained from Outfall 1 and Outfalt 2.
Due to a laboratory error, Total Settleable Solids were analyzed for instead of Total
Suspended Solids. Please see the attached email from Pace Analytical concerning the
mistake. S+G will be sampling the next available event in order to provide the required
analysis.

Hey Don,
Per our phone conversation earlier we had discussed where the lab analyzed for the Total Settable Solids
compared to the Total Suspended Solids analysis that was written on the Chain -of -Custody. We will keep a
careful eye on this for the next sampling event to where this oversight is not repeated. For the Total Settable
Solids, this is the difference between the Total Suspended Solids and the Non-Settable Solids. While this
number will be less than the Total amount, it is still somewhat relative to the amount of solids present in the
water. If there is anything we can do in the meantime to help please let me know. I apologize for this oversight
and I hope you have a great evening.
