Stormwater Monthly Sampling Event July 2014 To Whom It May Concern; Attached to this cover letter please find the analytical results from a storm event on July 10, 2014 to comply with our NPDES General Permit No. NCG030000. The samples were collected in accordance with our NPDES General Permit NCG030000 and Certificate of Coverage NCG030590 for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., Kinston, NC. By submitting this data we have met the monitoring requirements for our Tier 2 response actions for Outfall 42, 3rd month of monthly monitoring. We collected monthly samples in April, May, and the beginning of July. We did not have any flow from storms in June, so we were unable to collect a monthly sample in June. The Spirit -Kinston facility currently has 2 active stormwater outfalls that we monitor and sample as required by our general permit. During the day of sampling, there was significant flow at the outfalls of both Wetland Ponds. Previous results from the Fall 2013 sampling period showed that Outfall #2 had elevated copper levels of 0.009 mg/L, 0.002 above benchmark value. The Spring 2014 samples collected on February 13, 2014 showed both Outfall #1 (0.010 mg/L) and Outfall 42 (0.012 mg/L) copper levels exceeded the benchmark values. As a result, Spirit began implementing Tier Two response actions including monthly monitoring for all parameters in April 2014. The analytical results from our first month of monthly monitoring on April 15, 2014 showed that all parameters were at or below benchmark values. The analytical results from our second month of monitoring on May 16, 2014 showed that all parameters were below benchmark values. The analytical results from our third month of sampling on July 10, 2014 also showed that all parameters were below benchmark values. Since this was our 3`d sampling event that showed values at or below benchmark values, we will discontinue monthly monitoring and go back to bi-annual sampling as required by the General Permit. Stormwater Monthly Sampling Event May 2014 "fo Whom It May Concern: Attached to this cover letter please find the analytical results from a storm event on April 15, 2014 to comply with our NPDES General Permit No. NCG030000. The samples were collected in accordance with our NPDES General Permit NCGO30000 and'Certificate of Coverage NCG030590 for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., Kinston, NC. By submitting this data we have met the monitoring requirements for our Tier 2 response actions for Outfall #2, 2nd month of monthly monitoring. The Spirit -Kinston facility currently has 2 active stormwater outfalls that we monitor and sample as required by our general permit. During the date of sampling, there was significant flow at the outfalls of both Wetland Ponds. Previous results from the Fall 2013 sampling period showed that Outfall 92 had elevated copper levels of 0.009 mg/L, 0.002 above benchmark value. The Spring 2014 samples collected on February 13, 2014 showed both Outfall #1 (0.010 mg/L) and Outfall #2 (0.012 mg/L) copper levels exceeded the benchmark values. As a result, Spirit began implementing Tier 'I'wo response actions including monthly monitoring for all parameters. The analytical results from our first month of monthly monitoring on April 15, 2014 showed that all parameters were at or below benchmark values. The analytical results from our second month of monitoring on May 16, 2014 showed that all parameters were below benchmark values. This is our second month in a row that levels were at or below benchmark values. To comply with the requirements of Tier Two response actions, Spirit will continue to conduct monthly monitoring until we get 3 consecutive sample results that are at or below benchmark values. We will submit a letter with results to the Division of Water Quality within 30 days of receipt of the analytical results. SPIRI .77* .[.ee.e1c.9 . Stormwater Sampling Event Spring 2014, Year 2 Period 1 To Whom It May Concern: Attached to this cover letter please find the analytical results from a storm event on February 13, 2014 to comply with our NPDES General Permit No. NCG030000. The samples were collected in accordance with our NPDES General Permit NCG030000 and Certificate of Coverage NCG030590 for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., Kinston, NC. By submitting this data we have met the monitoring requirements for Year 2014. Period l (Spring) of our permit. The Spirit -Kinston facility currently has 2 active stormwater outfalls that we monitor and sample as required by our general permit. During the day of sampling, there was flow at the outfalls of both Wetland Ponds. Previous results from the Fall 2013 sampling period showed that Outfall #2 had elevated copper levels of 0.009 mg/L, 0.002 above benchmark value. During our most recent sampling on February 13, 2014, both Outfall 41 and Outfall #2 copper levels exceeded the benchmark values. Specifically, Outfall #1 results showed copper levels at 0.010 mg/L and Outfall #2 had copper levels at 0.012 mg/L. As a result, Spirit is implementing Tier Two response activities with the addition of monthly monitoring for all parameters. I certify, under penalty of law, that this document and all attachments were prepared under my direction or supervision in accordance with a system designed to assure that qualified personnel properly gather and evaluate the information submitted.
