Significant accumulations of sediment had deposited at the base of the access road/pump station and also throughout the adjacent field near Dye Creek. The facility staff should implement the appropriate erosion control measures and remediate all affected areas to prevent any potential water quality impacts (via runoff) to Dye Creek. In addition, the Division of Land Resources/Land Quality Section staff (Mooreville Regional Office) have also been notified of these observations. The entire asphalt driveway (up to 2 inches in sections) was covered with sediment as a result of the construction activities. Several of the stormwater inlets (aiong the driveway) contained a grave{ border with straw to minimize/prevent the discharge of sediment into the receiving stream. Although evidence of sediment entering the stormwater outfallslchannels was observed, no sediment accumulations were noted in the receiving stream. The City must ensure that the appropriate BMPs and erosion and control measures have been implemented and are properly maintained at all times. The Division of Land Resources/Land Quality staff (Mooresville Regional Office) have also been contacted regarding these findings.
