Dear Mr. Rasimas:
You have our approval to construct retaining wait in waters nt lot 137, Carolina Forest on 1_:4:c
Tillery, as you described in your application dated 25 April 1996, /After reviewing your applic:+rion
we have decided that this fill is covered by General Water Quality Certification Number 26"l4. This
certification allows you to use General Permit Number 030 when it is issued by the Corps of
Engineers.
This approval is only valid for tl?c purpose and design that you described in ypr?r application. If
-you change your project, you must notify us and you may be required to send us a new application.
For this approval to be valid, you rnnst follow the conditions listed in the attached certification. In
addition, you should get any other federal, state or local permits before you go ahead with your
project.
If you do not accept any of the conditions of this certification, you may ask for an arljudicatory
hearing. You must act within 60 days of the date that you receive this letter. To ask for a hearing,
send a written petition which conforms to Chapter 15013 of the North Carolina General Slatutes to the
Office of Administrative Hearings, P.O. Box 27447, Raleigh, N.C. 27611-7447. This certification and
its conditions are final and binding unless you ask for a hearing.
This letter completes the review of the Division of 17nvironn enial Management under Seclion

It is our intention to construct the following at Lake Tillery and Lot 137 (Carolina Forest
Development), Troy, North Carolina:
• One(]) 29'(I)x 6'(h)x 5'(w) wood retaining wall against eroding shoreline.
• Backfill (partial) will be 3/4" washed stone (locally sourced material).
• Anchoring will be vertical 4x4 p.t. posts driven into ground and additionally
supported by equal number of 4x4 p.t. posts horizontally anchored in the
opposite direction of water.
• Facing material will be vertically placed 2x6'p.t. wood and decking will be
same material.
• Adequate stairs will be added to coincide with recently installed dock
(permits secured earlier) and older existing walkway.
• All construction to be in close proximity of land and water.
Seven(7) copies of correspondence have been enclosed.
