Enclosed, please Find the completed permit application NGCO50000 and $100 fee for operations at
the new LANXESS Corporation facility to be located at 1225 Gastonia Technology Parkway, Dallas,
NC 28034,
On July 12, 2012, we contacted the NC DENR Stormwater Permitting Office for permit guidance and
discussed our plans with Mr. Ken Pickle. This facility is a greenfield site that has been under
construction since 2011. Pending approval of this permit, we are planning to conduct some
calibration checks and performance tests on the equipment starting on August 13, 2012, followed by
a .production start date of September 1, 2012, We are hopeful that DENR can accommodate this
schedule byssuing confirmation of coverage under the general permit prior to August 13, 2012..
Based on our conversation with Mr. Pickle, he believed this time frame would be feasible. To
improve efficiency of processing, Mr. Pickle also suggested we send a copy of this permit application
to Ms. Marcia Allocco at the Mooresville Regional Office. She has been copied on this letter and sent
a copy of the packet.
We do understand that we also need a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan in place prior to facility
start-up. We are currently working on this document and it will be in place by the start up date.

I think you may have already received the NOI for this one from their consultant. At least they indicated in the cover
letter that they sent you a copy. I have attached the NOI here anyway just in case, along with the location map and
stream info. They are apparently hoping to open Sept. 1" and had talked with Ken about trying to get coverage by Aug
131h so they could do equipment tests (see letter). Could you let me now as soon as you can if you have any concerns
about issuing this permit.
If this needs to go to someone else in the regional office, please let me know.

I think you may have already received the NOI for this one from their consultant. At least they indicated in the cover
letter that they sent you a copy. I have attached the NOI here anyway just in case, along with the location map and
stream info. They are apparently hoping to open Sept. I" and had talked with Ken about trying to get coverage by Aug
130 so they could do equipment tests (see letter). Could you let me now as soon as you can if you have any concerns
about issuing this permit.
If this needs to go to someone else in the regional office, please let me know.

Enclosed, please find the completed permit application NGC050000 and $100 fee for operations at
the new tANXESS Corporation facility to be located at 1225 Gastonia Technology Parkway, Dallas,
NC 28034.
On July 12, 2012, we contacted the NC DENR Stormwater Permitting Office for permit guidance and
discussed our plans with Mr. Ken Pickle. This facility is a greenfield site that has been under
construction since 2011. Pending approval of this pennit, we are planning to conduct some
calibration checks and performance tests on the equipment starting on Auqust 13, 2012, followed by
a production start date of September 1, 2012.. We are hopeful that DENR can accommodate this
schedule by issuing confirmation of coverage under the general permit prior to August 13 2012..
Based on our conversation with Mr. Pickle, he believed this time frame would be feasible. To
improve efficiency of processing, Mr. Pickle also suggested we send a copy of this permit application
to Ms. Marcia Allocea at the Mooresville Regional Office. She has been copied on this letter and sent
a copy of the packet.
We do understand that we also need a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan in place prior to facility
start-up. We are currently working on this document and it will be in place by the start up date.
