As per telephone conversation with Mr. Dean H. Metz, Safety / Environmental manager,
Dana Spicer Clark - Hurth plant, Statesville. The hazardous materials generated by the facility
are a by-product of their waste pretreatment facility.
The hazardous materials consist primarily of oil and oil sludge. The material is contained
in a holding tank until shipment. Materials are vacuumed directly from the holding tank to the
transport vehicle.
Safety - Kleen (Laidlaw Environmental) of Columbia, S.C. is the contractor for transport
and disposal of the facilities hazardous waste. The facility averages 12 shipments per year.
