Resin dust sampling results were 7.4 for pH and 1.6 mg/kg for zinc. 2. pH from roof drains was 6.22 (Wood Maintenance), 6.04 (Wood Machine) and 5.07 (Wood Finishing). 3. Have not been able to confirm that CB at baghouse discharges to Outfall 3 due to not being available during a good rain. 4. Stormwater drain behind plant (at railroad track) discharges towards the plant. We started looking into better housekeeping measures for the resin waste dumpster. If you have any suggestions or need anything else please write back or call. This includes exceeding zinc and copper in all 3 outfalls and failing below the benchmark range for pH at 2 of them. Per permit requirements, we implemented actions for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 including but not limited to: Research into possible causes, more frequent inspections of the property, cleanup of outside materials, awareness training for all Associates, drain inserts in selected areas and painting of selected galvanized duct work. Non process sources have been identified including galvanized fencing, ductwork and guttering along with receiving runoff from a manufacturing facility next door. Other improvements are in process as well. Along with assistance in meeting the benchmark levels, we would also like to request reducing the number of sampling outfalls and a return to semi-annual sampling if possible. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything else. Sincerely, / Scott M.
