Quality September 13, 2019 SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report Columbia WWTP NPDES WW Permit No. NCO020443 Tyrrell County Dear Mr. White: The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Columbia WWTP on 9/13/2019. This inspection was conducted to see what progress has been made to clean up the sludge spill that occurred during Hurricane Dorian. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". Howlett's septic had 2 pump trucks cleaning up the remainder of the spill. Lime is being applied as spill area is cleaned. Tim believes that the spill should be completely cleaned up by Monday. Sludge measurements were taken in all 4 clarifiers. Clarifiers were measured from #1 clarifier old wwtp beside fence to #4 clarifier on new plant closest to shop. Sludge blanket level in the clarifiers were 3.5' in #1, 5' in #2, 2.5' in #3 and 7.5' in #4 Clarifier. Page#
