This station is a dry pit station with suction lift pumps and air discharge lines for priming. On this day the air discharge piping failed due to heat from a pump loosing prime and allowed the wastewater to be discharged out the door of the station and onto the ground. This continued until the second pump lost its prime causing the wetwell to rise to the alarm float alerting on call personnel. Repair equipment and parts were on hand to quickly repair the station and get both pumps back online and primed. There is no telemetry alert for loss of prime due to the age of the station (60+ years old). This station may be replaced in the future as part of a consolidation/gravity main. The spill was quickly contained and a small amount of debris were removed from the area and lime was applied. If there are any questions related to this spill feel free to contact our Public Works Dept. Sincerely, T.
