nags head 2017 plans-05072019093444.pdf
Hi all,
I just received the attached proposed plan change for the Nags Head project. Obviously, this is
conceptual, and Haiqing said if workable, she would work up formal drawing changes. She said this
came about after conversations between the HOAs at the south end and the Town. She said the
work at station 980+00 is just be bulldozing- no additional material would be placed since they've
already pumped there and can't go back, but areas to the south they propose to pump to +6.3' and
would then bulldoze. So while I haven't confirmed this, I would think that they would potentially
exceed the 4mcy volume they originally proposed- since current volume estimates put them right at
4mcy (without the +/- 10% allowance for "error')
Please let me know your thoughts and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks!
Heather

Existing stormwater outfalls maintained by NCDOT are visible on sheets 03, 04 and 11. The outfall on
sheet 17 near station 1025+00 will be restored and extended a minimum distance as necessary to
maintain functionality after the project based on requirements or specifications provided by NCDOT.
Appropriate bridging or sand -layer protection will be used during construction to avoid any damage to
ft structures when heavy equipment has to run over these outfalls. No ill will be placed over the
seaward end of the outfalls so that the outfalls remain funCtionai during construction.

Okay, I just spoke to Haiqing and she said they will adjust the template to account for the additional
material for the dune so as to not exceed 4mcy. So that will hopefully make things a little simpler!
