the volume of wastewater to be permitted in this project has been evaluated along the route to the
receiving wastewater treatment facility and that the flow from this project is not anticipated to
cause any capacity related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station
en route to the receiving treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of
the planned improvements identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis
has been performed in accordance with local established policies and procedures using the best

to the referenced sanitary Sewer extension permit. The proposed modification will consist of an
additional +/- 621 If of 8" DIP sanitary sewer main within the Project Site for a total project length of
1526 If of 8" DIP. The reason for the requested modification is based upon field conditions; unmarked
utilities within the Hillsborough Street roadway were encountered and connection to the sanitary
sewer main (in Hillsborough Street) in not possible. Considering that the project is currently under
construction and this being a modification to an existing permit, an expedited review of this
modification request would be greatly appreciated. For reference, attached is a copy of the permit
previously issued by your office. During your review of the above, should you have further questions

The modification to the referenced sanitary sewer extension permit is being requested since unmarked
utilities within the Hillsborough Street roadway were encountered during the attempted installation of
the sanitary sewer main on Hillsborough Street. These (unmarked) utilities prevent the sanitary sewer
connections as originally designed from being installed. The permit modification proposed to connect
to Sanitary Sewer MH A-4 on the project site via gravity; this sewer and all downstream improvements
are included in the permit for this project. The proposed modification will consist of an additional six
(6) sanitary sewer manholes on the project site and will install an additional +/- 621 If of 8" DIP sanitary
sewer main for a total project length of 1526 If of 8" DIP. All sewer improvements previously
permitted within the Hillsborough Street roadway will no longer be installed and have been removed
from permit.
