Project Description:
SUMMARY OF HISTORIC ARCHICTECTURE AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW
Description of review activities, results, and conclusions:
Review of HPO quad maps, HPO GIS information, historic designations roster, and indexes was
undertaken on August 4, 2016. Based on this review, there are no existing NR, SL, LD, DE, or
SS properties in the Area of Potential Effects, which is defined on the following maps. As this is
a state funded project with no federal actions, it is subject to GS 121-12(a), which requires
consideration of only National Register listed properties in the APE. There are no NR Iisted
properties in the APE, therefore the project needs no architectural survey. Should the project
acquire federal funding, permits, or other involvement, or if its scope changes in any way, it will
require additional review. There are no National Register listed or eligible properties and no
survey is required. If design plans change, additional review will be required.
Why the available information provides a reliable basis for reasonably predicting that there
are no unidentified significant historic architectural or landscape resources in the project
area:
HPO quad maps and GIS information recording NR, SL, LD, DE, and SS properties for the
Onslow County survey, Onslow County GISITax information, and Google Maps are considered
valid for the purposes of determining the likelihood of historic resources being present. There
are no National Register listed or eligible properties within the APE and no survey is required.

Thank you Adrienne,
I just reviewed the change of the Scope and discussed with Mary Pope Furr. The revised Study
Area/Area of Potential Effects contains no structures over fifty years of age and is characterized by
modern commercial development similar to the original Study Area. No additional survey is required
for Historic Architecture, and you do not need to resubmit this project as this email confirms that
the additional study area was reviewed and a determination was made that no additional survey
work is needed. Please let me know if you need any additional information or have any questions.
Thank you,
Kate

Good morning Kate,
I hope this finds you well. I requested a Historic Cultural Resources Screening in July 2016, and
received the attached document from your office. The initial project limits for the area in question
have been extended approximately 650-feet northwest (see attached map). I'm preparing to submit
a State Minimum Criteria Checklist document to Division 3, and need to know if I should re -submit
for the Historic Cultural Resources Screening through ETRACS based on the new footprint.
I appreciate your time and attention to this matter.
v/r,
