SUMMARY OF HISTORIC ARCHICTECTURE AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW
Description of review activities, results, and conclusions:
Review of HPO quad maps, relevant background reports, historic designations roster, and
indexes was undertaken on July 24, 2017. A circa 1925 house was identified east of the project
area. An NCDOT Architectural Historians advised that if plans changed his project would need
to be resubmitted. In April 2018 new plans were submitted that extends the project to the west.
These new area would include the P. N. Tiger House (CY0045), however the approximate site
mapped on HOPGIS contains only a mobile home according to the Clay County GIS data. There
are no other historic properties in the project area. No survey is required.
Why the available information provides a reliable basis for reasonably predictinz that there
are no unidentiried sinanircant historic architectural or landscape resources in the Proiect
area: Using HPO GIS website and county tax data provides reliable information regarding the structures
in the APE. These combined utilities are considered valid for the purposes of determining the likelihood
of historic resources being present.
