Attached is a site plan for a shoreline development at the above referenced subdivision.
Application is being made to Duke Power Company for the required F.E.R.C. permit
to construct 29 docks, piers, and floating boat slips at this subdivision.

We ask that you advise us, by return mail, of any comments you may have concerning
this development or of any permits your authority may require. Your comments are a
requirement ofthe F.E.R.C. permit application. Thank you for your cooperation and

Dear Ms. Girdwood:

Thank you for informing us of the proposed changes to the Pinnacle Shores South
Project (8/'2196) and providing information on the Ashley Cove (7/31/96) project. As we
have stated in our May 10, 1996 letter, the construction of dock, piers, and boat slips will
need a Section 404 permit from the US Army Corps of Engineers (COE), and a Section
401 water certification from the NC Division of Water Quality (DWQ). Application for
both the 404 permit, and the 401 certification can be made simultaneously using the COE-
DWQjoint application form.

If you have questions concerning Section 404 permits please contact the
Wilmington District of the U.S. Corps of Engineers, Regulatory Branch,PO l30x 1890,

On May 8, 1996 you were contacted on the above referenced project, we have since
revised our plan. Application is being made to Duke Power Company for the required
F.E.R.C. permit to construct docks at this subdivision. There will be no dredging or
shoreline stabilization in the docking area. Weare asking for your comments on the
twelve (12) slips located at Community Dock Facility B.

We ask that you advise us within 30 days, by return mail, of any comments you may
have concerning this development or of any permits your authority may require. Your
comments are a requirement of the F.E.R.C. permit application. Thank you for your
cooperation and prompt response.
