Please find attached the 404-Merger NEPA Application for NCDOT STIP Project No. U-5768,
NC 49 Improvements. The purpose of the application is to trigger the Corps to issue a Public
Notice to aid in selection of the Least Environmentally Damaging Practicable Alternative
(LEDPA). In support of the application, attached for your consideration is a draft Public Notice
and stream/wetland impact mapping for the 8.5-mile project corridor.
