Adam,
The proposed relocation of 27' of stream appears to be as cut into a hillside. I'm unclear how this channel will function
properly (hydrologic flow and permanent stability) if it is excavated into a hillside adjacent to the current channel
location (the plan doesn't show any changes to grade where the existing channel is now, it appears they just need to
meet a buffer and instead of designing the building to meet the buffer they want to move the stream to meet the
buffer). Maybe if you could provide final grading plans for the area it would help?
Also, can you please provide a longitudinal profile and slope and a discussion of whether you evaluated any needed for a
grade control structure. And a discussion of how the radius of curvature was determined to be stable given the
steepness of the site. Mountain streams don't often have meanders of this magnitude in them.
I apologize that I haven't seen the site and maybe this would make more sense if I had but I don't have time to get up
there right now.
Thanks,
Sue Homewood
