Upon review of your request for Water Quality
Certification to place fill material in a tributary to
Coddle Creek, we have determined that the proposed fill can
be covered by General Water Quality Certification No. 2176
issued November 4, 1987. A copy of the General
Certification is attached. This Certification may be used
in qualifying for coverage under Corps of Engineers'
Nationwide Permit No. 26.

Mr. Overcash wishes to make an impoundment to an unnamed tributary to
Coddle Creek south of N. C. 73 and north of I-85 as shown on the attached
copy of the Kannapolis Quad.. This impoundment will impact 1.84 acres
of Waters Wetlands. Of that 1.84 acres 0.25 acres will be beneath the
fill of the dam. I am writing to request an application for a 401 Water
Quality Certificate. If you have any questions please do not hesitate
to cantact me.
