NO SURVEY REQUIRED FORM This form supercedes that dated 13 April 2010 This form only pertains to Historic Architecture and Landscapes for this project. It is not valid for Archaeological Resources. You must consult separately with the Archaeology Group. PROJECT INFORMATION Project No: County: Wayne WBS No.: 17BP.4. R.110 Document Type: Fed. Aid No: - Funding: X State Federal Federal Permits : X Yes No Permit T e s : USACE Proiect Description: Replace Bridge No. 121 on SR 2234/SR 1714 (Mark Edwards Road/ Parkstown Road) over West Bear Creek off -site detour planned, no improvements). SUMMARY OF HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW DESCRIPTION OF REVIEWACTIVITIES, RESULTS, AND CONCLUSIONS: HPOWeb reviewed on 10 April 2019 and yielded no NR, DE, SL, LD, or SS properties in the Area of Potential Effects (APE). Wayne County current GIS mapping, aerial photography, and tax information indicated an APE of mostly cultivated fields with two residential resources, one dating to the early twentieth century and the other to the 1980s (viewed 10 April 2019). The pre-1970 resource is an unexceptional and altered example of its type. Bridge No. 121, built in 1950, is not eligible for the National Register according to the NCDOT Historic Bridge Inventory as it is neither aesthetically, nor technologically significant. Google Maps "Street View" illustrates the absence of critical architectural and landscape resources in the APE (viewed 10 April 2019). Project resubmitted for review in March 2019 with expanded study area. Original review in 2010 concluded no survey required. No architectural survey is required for the project as currently defined. WHY THEAVAILABLE INFORMATION PROVIDES REMBLE BASIS FOR REASONABLY PREDICTING THAT THERE ARE NO UNIDENTIFIED SIGNIFICANT HISTORIC ARCHITECTURAL OR LANDSCAPE RESOURCES IN THEPROJECTAREA: The APE equates with the study area provided in the current review request (see attached). County GIS and other visuals confirm the absence of significant architectural and landscape resources in the APE. The comprehensive county architectural survey (1995-7), as well as later investigations, recorded no properties in the APE. No National Register -listed properties are present in the APE or along the proposed detour route. Should the project limits or design change, please notify NCDOT Historic Architecture as additional review may be necessary.
