What data sources did you use to determine whether your site would impact Endangered Species or Designated Critical Habitat? The NC Natural Heritage Program GIS layer was used to determine the presence of federally listed species. No federally protected species were noted on the site. Several rare species, including sea turtles, sturgeon, manatee, and seabeach amaranth are known to occur within a one mile radius of the lot, most likely within the Atlantic Ocean and/or its adjacent beaches. Suitable habitat for these species does not exist within the site. The northern long-eared bat is known to occur in Brunswick County and the site may provide suitable roosting habitat since it is forested. However, no hibernacula nor maternity roosting trees are known to occur in Brunswick County and any effect from tree clearing would be exempt per the 4(d) rule. Consultation Documentation Upload 6. The Elizabeth River and/or adjacent waters are EFH for snapper/grouper and coastal migratory pelagics. It is also HAPC for penaeid shrimp. Project will occur outside of the DCM Area of Environmental Concern. Silt fencing will be used during construction to ensure sediment does not leave site. A stormwater permit will also be obtained. 7. Historic or Prehistoric Cultural Resources (Corps Requirement) 7a.
