NOTE: The waterward- most pilings of the pier and boathouses should be marked with a durable, reflective material to prevent potential navigation impacts. NOTE: The project site is located in an area having a high probability of con- taining cultural resources such as artifacts, human remains, etc. If such materials-are encountered, the permittee must immediately stop work and notify the District Engineer, Wilmington Corps of Engineers, 343-4629 and the N. C. Office of Coastal Management at 726-7021.A n Morehead City. This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. An appeal requires resolution prior to work initiation or continuance, as the case may be. This permit must be accessible on-site to Department personnel when the project is inspected for compliance. Any maintenance work or project modification not covered hereunder requires further Departmental approval. Environmental settin The applicant owns a 411' by 164' by 120' by 411' lot on Bath Creek in the Town of Bath near the outdoor drama site. No dwellings have been constructed on the site, however, the applicant has stabilized the shoreline with a bulkhead. No wetland vegetation is present at the site. Project proposal The applicant is proposing to construct a 138' long pier and connect to it two boathouses. The boathouse on the north side of the pier will be 16' by 24' and the boathouse on the south side of the pier will be 16' by 44'. Both boathouses will be open sided and no part of the entire structure will be within 15' of the adjoining property lines.
