This letter is in response to your request of October 7, 1988
concerning our approval of the Subject project. We understand that
the project will include 30 wet slips for rental, 20 wet slips for
gas sales, 10 slips for dry storage parking, a dry storage building,
a sales and service building, and a ship's store. The location will
be on the east side of Lake Norman just north of the Duke Power
Company, Pinnacle Access Area. We understand also that sewage
disposal from the project will be to either a private or public
owned sewage treatment plant. A sewage pumpout facility should be
provided for boats with holding tanks using the marina.
Our review indicates that the proposed project will not require
an approval or permit from our Division. You should be aware that
the dredging and shoreline stabilization activities may require
approval of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Regulatory Branch.
Their office is in Wilmington, N.C. and they should.be contacted
regarding their specific requirements. Any spoils from dredging
activities must be adequately retained and dewatered in such a way
as to not adversely effect water quality in the surface waters of
the area.

Please be advised that we are making application to the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission, to construct a marina on Highway 150 East in Iredell County on Lake
Norman.
The facility will include 30 wet slips for rental, 20 wet slips for gas sales, 10
slips for dry storage parking, 2401x100' dry storage building, 10OX50 sales and
service building, and a 501X50' ships store. Diagrams and Maps are inclosed for
your inspection.
We.need a summary of any permits or other approvals that we will need from your
;agency for this proposed marina.

Attached is a site plan of a proposed marina to be con-
structed on Lake Norman. Application is being made to Duke
Power Company for necessary permission to construct docks,
dredge, construct a bulkhead, and stabilize the shoreline
with rock riprap on property owned by Duke Power Company
Cbelow the '760' contour.
The scope of the development includes floating docks for
customer boat storage, docking for boat fueling, bulkheads to
allow boat launching, Z?0-boat dry storage building, ship's
store and boat sales and service, shoreline stabilization,
and public parking facilities.

you may have concerning this development or of any permits
