From what I can tell, based on the below email and the draft application he provided (attached), the majority of the length of this project will be a directional bore, where they'll either use 24" HDPE or 20" Fusible PVC, which have a similar ID (18.37" vs. 19.06"). But they are also considering using 20" or 16" Fusible PVC for other portions of the project, which (of course) don't have similar IDs, but the engineer is saying it won't have much of an effect on the entire line because that 301 feet is just a fraction of the entire project length. (Actually, it's a bit confusing as to what they're exactly proposing, but once I get an idea of how we would write a permit for such a situation, I can better nail down what it is they're proposing). Hi Madhu, Just an FYI... design of the system should be done before an application is submitted. Will the calculations and designs be done for all alternatives? Also, i know in some cases that pipes of different material and outer diameter sometimes have a verysimilar inside diameter, and therefore the calculations are very similar. Is this the case in any of these situations? I'm still waiting to hear a definitive answer on how to proceed with this.
