This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0056561. Please note, DWR’s Bioassay Laboratory invalidate their test results due to a QC failure. Additional splits are not being requested by the Asheville Regional Office (ARO) at this time. The Town will be notified by the ARO if an additional split sample is required later this year. Whole Effluent samples were split on Tuesday July 9th and Thursday July 10th for use in a Chronic Ceriodaphnia dubia pass-fail toxicity test. The Town's samples were analyzed by ETS and will be reported as either pass/fail on the July DMR and submitted to our Bioassay department as part of their routine quarterly toxicity testing. DWR's samples were analyzed by our Bioassay Laboratory in Raleigh. Please note, the State Bioassay Laboratory has invalidated the results of their test based on a QC failure. The results indicated 100% survival in the test effluent, but the control sample survival was only 67%. Currently the ARO is not requesting an additional split at this time.
