On July 24, 2018, Duke Energy representatives met with the NCDEQ Stormwater Permitting Section to discuss options for the Buck Ash Beneficiation stormwater permit. Due to the nature of operations at the facility, the control of product during processing and packaging, and the rigorous Best Management Practices to be employed by the facility, the General Permit NCG130000 was recommended by the NCDEQ Stormwater Permitting Section. The Cape Fear Ash Beneficiation Facility will operate in a manner similar to the Buck Ash Beneficiation Facility and thus will also seek coverage under Goiieirtl Perrrill NOO 130000 Enclosed are the following supporting information: • NOI Application • Application Fee • USGS Location Map • Facility Map and Layout We appreciate your attention to this request and look forward to finalizing the General Permit NCG130000 for the Cape Fear Ash Beneficiation Facility.
