Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Catawba Falls Lot #195
SFR on 7/24/2019. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance
with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0031131. It has been noted the
facility has not yet been constructed. Please carefully review the comments noted within the summary of the
attached inspection report. Future construction plans, pertaining to the number of bedrooms, will determine
whether a modification is required.

Inspection Summary:
Mikal Willmer, with the Asheville Regional Office, contacted the new owner Dr. Michael Keir regarding the site and future
plans on July 10, 2019 in response to a permit renewal application.
Mr. Keir conveyed he was not immediately planning to develop the property but estimated he would start in approximately 24
months. He will try and contact our office 6 months before any development begins.
The new owner would like to build a four-bedroom log home.System plans were conveyed during the sale of the property.It
should be noted, the original plans and permit were approved for a three-bedroom house. The system and drip field should be
re-evaluated and permit modified should you wish to install a home with more than three-bedrooms.
I visited the site on July 24, 2019 since access to the property has been limited in the past due to a gate. Lot 195 is still
vacant and forested as are the two surrounding lots. A Mr. Zuk, neighbor across the street, showed me the property
boundaries. No issues noted at the time of the site visit.
