All construction equipment will be staged and operated from upland areas. DOT will also install silt fencing to protect the streams and wetlands
adjacent to the project. Safety fencing will be used to delineate jurisdictional and environmentally sensitive areas from encroachment.

Red -cockaded woodpecker (RCW) is included in the IPaC TE list dated July 18, 2019. RCW foraging, or nesting habitat was not found adjacent to the
project area. NCNHP database records no element occurrence Within a mile of the project area. (No Affect) / Neuse River Waterdog is included in the
IPaC TE list dated July 18, 2019. The "Proposed Threatened" listing for this species was announced May 2019. This species is active during cold
water events of Winter and early Spring. Therefore, there has not been an appropriate widowof conditions to conduct survey for this species. Surveys
will be conducted when required by T&E protocols. (unresolved) // Carolina Madtom ("Proposed Threatened) is included in the IPaC TE list dated July
18, 2019. Three Oaks Engineering conducted Aquatic Species Surveys June 30, 2016, for this site. This survey determined that the site with multiple
beaver impounds both up and down stream of the site plus the Cattail Lake impoundment downstream of the project site does not have suitable
habitat for the Carolina Madtom. Surveys were conducted Without finding any occurrence of the species.NCNHP database records no element
occurrence within a mile of the project area. (No Affect) /// Tar River Spinymussel (TRS) is included in the IPaC TE list dated July 18, 2019. Three
Oaks Engineering conducted Aquatic Species Surveys June 30, 2016, for this project site. This survey found no TRS and also determined that the site
does not have suitable habitat for TRS. Their survey made a "No Affect" call for the species. NCNHP database records no element occurrence within a
mile of the project site. This project also meets the Section 7 Mussel Programmatic protocols for bridge replacement of a Programmatic BO of "May
Affect -Not Likely to Adversely Affect". (MANLAA) //// Dwarf Wedgemussel (DW) is included in the IPaC TE list dated July 18, 2019. Three Oaks
Engineering conducted Aquatic Species Surveys June 30, 2016, for this project site. This survey found no DW and also determined that the site does
not have suitable habitat for DW. Their survey made a "No Affect" call for the species. NCNHP database records no element occurrence within a mile
of the project site. This project also meets the Section 7 Mussel Programmatic protocols for bridge replacement of a Programmatic BO of "May Affect -
Not Likely to Adversely Affect". (MANLAA) ///// Yellow Lance (YL) is included in the IPaC TE list dated July 18, 2019. Three Oaks Engineering
conducted Aquatic Species Surveys June 30, 2016, for this project site. This survey found no YL and also determined that the site does not have
suitable habitat for YL. Their survey made a "No Affect" call for the species. NCNHP database records no element occurrence within a mile of the
project site. This project also meets the Section 7 Mussel Programmatic protocols for bridge replacement of a Programmatic BO of "May Affect -Not
Likely to Adversely Affect". (MANLAA) ////// Atlantic Pigtoe (AP) ("Proposed Threatened) is included in the IPaC TE list dated July 18, 2019. Three
Oaks Engineering conducted Aquatic Species Surveys June 30, 2016, for this project site. This survey found no AP and also determined that the site
does not have suitable habitat for AP. Their survey made a "No Affect" call for the species. NCNHP database records no element occurrence Within a
mile of the project site. This project also meets the Section 7 Mussel Programmatic protocols for bridge replacement of a Programmatic BO of "May
Affect -Not Likely to Adversely Affect". (MAKILAA) /////// Michau)Zs Sumac (MS) is included in the IPaC TE list dated July 18, 2019. No MS was found
