A copy of the General Certification is attached. This Certification may be used in qualifying for coverage under Corps of Engineers' Nationwide Permit No, 26. The scope of this project is to construct a service road along the bank of the lake for future access to maintain the sediment devices and containment area, remove vegetation and sediment accumulation from above and below the sediment devices to return the storage area and lake to the original capacity and condition. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED WORK (ATTACH PLANS): The lowering of the lake for the removal of the sediment from the- upper portion of the lake (open water). The construction of a service road along the bank of the lake for future access to maintain the sediment devices and containment area. The removal of vegetation and sediment accumukdon from above the sediment devices to return the storage area to the original capacity and condition. The openh of other areas in the, lake to the original condition at the time the lake was created. 13. PURPOSE OF PROPOSED WORK To provide a sediment storage and containment area at the head of the lake as originally designed. To clean out the accumulated sediment from the containment area and the head of the lake and other areas where sediment has accumulated over the recent past. 14. STATE THE REASONS WHY THE APPLICANT BELIEVES THAT THIS ACTIVITY MUST BE CARRIED OUT IN WETLANDS.- ALSO, NOTE MEASURES TAKEN TO MINIMIZE WETLAND IMPACTS. The scope of the project is to return the lake and the sediment containment area back to the condition that existed at the time the lake was created. The service road will be the only addition to the park and wetland area that did not exist as part of the original development. The service road will be lined with silt fencing while the sedlmant removal process Is underway. The material will be stockpiled on site for drying and future removal or use within the park.
