Robbie Bullock (DWR WaRO) met with Timothy Lawrence, Patricia Davis and Michelle Saczynski to
discuss the periodic enterococci violations.
The facility is currently using UV and chlorine for disinfection but they are having periodic enterococci
violations. Patricia has chlorinated the effluent line and the reclaim water storage tank to ensure that
the treatment system is clean. There is a slight red tint to the wastewater which could prevent UV
penetration but the addition of chlorine should kill any pathogen that is not treated through the UV
disinfection.
Patricia did find that the check valve on the reclaim water tank is leaking reclaimed water into post
aeration. A enterococci sample was taken of this leak and the enterococci results were higher than
NPDES permitted limits. A new check valve has been ordered and should be replaced by 7/22/2019.
Patricia has been proactive in taking additional steps to eliminate what is causing the periodic
enterococci violations.
