Please provide a completed Infiltration Basin Supplement Form (including both
worksheets, Design Summary and Required Items Checklist), as well as all of the
required items. The BMP Supplement Forms are available on the DWQ web site
at: http:/ih2o.enr.state.nc.us!?sLi/bmp_for ns.htm. The form that was provided
pertained to Infiltration Trenches.
2. Please show the area of rooftop that will be conveyed to the infiltration basin.
This area must be equivalent to or greater than the amount of impervious surface
that is proposed within the riparian buffer. The design of the infiltration basin
must reflect the actual amount of water that is being conveyed from the rooftop.
3. Please provide plans for the hydraulic device that will be used to convey
stormwater from the grit chamber to the infiltration basin.
4. Please remove the vegetated area that is proposed upslope of the infiltration basin.
Importing clays and topsoil to this area will increase the risk of clogging in the
infiltration basin. In addition, the infiltration basin should be sited in the highest
area possible to maximize the separation between the basin and the Seasonal High
Water Table.
5. It is permissible to plant grass on the surface of the infiltration basin.
