Notes and Sketches, etc
Restoration reach - bedrock, ok bedform - rock, active erosion left bank,
—3' incision, wide channel, thin buffer - invasives, invasives will be treated
early - during site investigation, active beaver, further up - more incised
both sides, enhancement reach - planting & raising bed - hydrologic uplift,
discussion on priori site violations, questioning recent historic land use
change (clearing, pond removal) - JD investigation of potential ebsting &
historic wetlands, no buffer on wetland proposed, channel face low chroma
soil more than a foot down from top of bank, lever along channel then
depression left side, wetland enhancement - redox soils -moist, native
wetland veg & invasives, UT1 wetland veg in channel bed & bank/bench,
incised —3 feet, bed sorting & pools moist - intermittent channel but flow
post -restoration could be a concern, buffer between UTI & UT1-A wooded
- planted pine?, no channel work proposed - reduce credit for half buffer
planting & invasives, UTI at property line channel incised on & off site -
can't raise up but can improve bedform to justify E2 ratio, main stem E1 -
remanent dam & crossing with wetland veg in channel - minor work to
connect restoration reaches, narrow wetland area - soil dry with redox,
throughout site good seedbed for native & invasive herb/shrub/trees, for
wetland credit show uplift in hyrodogy (baseline gauges) & target veg
community, top end start 60 feet from wood line - move ford crossing
outside easement and make culvert, veg sporadic in channel, hero's & fish,
parrot feather!!!, saw wash down of soil from adjacent crops, more beaver
activity, spots of ok bedform, dead shrubs & trees from herbicide
overspray, UT2 intermittent, UT3 question on jurisdiction - connects to
breeched pond - design as BMP in non -JD, looks like ag ditch - flow
observed in December, veg in channel,
