Subject: Crum Pond Improvements - NCWRC comments
Hi David and Kevin,
I reviewed the permit application for the Crum Pond Improvement project, which describes the installation of
a new coldwater release outflow structure on a pond that impounds an unnamed tributary to Mulberry Creek
and the placement of riprap on an unknown length of the same stream adjacent to the outflow and existing
culverts. It is our understanding that much of the work has already been completed.
Please note that there are Rainbow Trout in Mulberry Creek, and that any additional work should be
completed outside of the January 1 to April 15 moratorium. Flow must be maintained in the stream at all
times; while the pond is refilled, 50% of the flow should be maintained in the downstream channel.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this project.
Andrea
