Good talking to you today. As I mentioned on the phone, the USACE changed our request for a NWP 14 for the US 15-
501 Improvements - Ph 11 (Northwood High School Road Improvements) to a NWP 39 since the purpose of the impacts
are for school traffic. I've attached the USACE NWP 39 to this email. So the 401 WQC (Prof #20190383) that you issued
on 4/3/19 needs to be revised to a NWP 39. Also, we modified the design to reduce the impacts, so the impacts are less
than what was previously approved.
Also, the USACE has previously notified the Chatham County Board of Education that the Northwood High School Access
Road (DWR Proj #20180682), was non -compliant with the NWP 39 issued for that project, as one of the rip -rap
dissipaters was 12 If longer than permitted. So in order to bring the Access Road project into compliance, we included
the revised impacts for the Access Road project into the NWP 39 for the 15-501 Improvements project. So now the
USACE NWP 39 covers both the 15-501 Improvements project AND the Northwood High School Access Road project.
I'm assuming that NCDWR will mimic the USACE and issue a revised 401 WQC for both projects as well. I will be
submitting the request for a NWP 39 to your office via FedEx, along with a new application fee.
To make it as easy as possible on you, below is a breakdown of the revised impacts to be reflected in the new 401 WQC:
Northwood High School Access Road (DWR Proj #20180682) - Revised Impacts from previous permitting
• Impact 4-45 If (revised from the previously authorized 32 to bring project into compliance)

US 15-501 Improvements — Ph II (Northwood High School Road Improvements) (DWR Proj #20190383) — Revised
Impacts from previous permitting
• Impact 1A-95 If (reduced from previously authorized 111 If)
• Impact 113 — 52 If (same a previously authorized)
• Impact 1C — 20 If (reduced from previously authorized 24 If)
