Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov Mrs. Garcia, The following is the procedure that HEA follows to collect stormwater samples: • HEA monitors the weather forecast. • When a heavy storm event (.3 inches of rain or more) is forecasted, we will attempt to get a sample as long as the storm event is during General Timbers normal business hours. • Based on forecast times for rain to start HEA arrives on -site prior to rain event beginning. • In the event of HEA not being able to be at General Timber within the 30 mins, Mr. Williams is trained by HEA on how to collect the stormwater samples. • Sample bottles remain on -site at all times to ensure any heavy event is captured. Hunt Environmental typically trains the General Timber staff at their request yearly and they have direct oversight. However, we as needed review and provide recommendations on any permit related issues or measures that need to be addressed. 2. Hay Bales were installed at the location attached near Outfall 001. Over time these most likely have deteriorated if they were not visible. Additionally, due to the fact that the CCA product is most likely producing the issue on - site the product was moved out of the low lying areas. If you would like us to install a new BMP we can come up with a different design and implement it and attempt to get a new stormwater sample during a rainfall event soon. 3. Hunt Environmental is responsible, however, Mr. Greg Williams is trained on how to collect samples should HEA not make it on -site for event. Myself and Cody are out of Raleigh about 25 mins from the General Timber Site. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. We just have a couple of follow up questions: 1. Are you responsible for implementing/enforcing the NCS000122 permit in its entirety, at the site? 2. In walking the site today with Greg Williams, we were unable to locate/identify a copper BMP at outfall 001. Would you be able to tell us what copper BMP has been implemented at the site and where it is located? 3. Who is responsible for taking the stormwater samples during rain events and can you tell us what Hunt Environmental Associates office you are based out of? Thanks so much!
