Changes since last permit
STI Polymer has added a 23.000 gallon stainless steel AST that is protected by a 23,000 gallon
concert containment dike. This storage tank was added to increase the storage volume for
2-Ethyl Hexyl Acrylate or Butyl Acrylate. This will eliminate the number of tankers being
unloaded thus decreasing the exposure risk.
Two monomers have been added to the tank farm Methyl Acrylate, CAS# 96-33-3 and
Ethyl Acrylate CAS# 140-55-5. These monomers have been moved from drums to bulk storage
to accommodate the change in business. Moving from drums to bulk will decrease
handling reducing the possible exposure.
Changes since permit renewal application 11/20/13:
Warehouse with loading dock added adjacent to existing warehouse.
15,520 square feet - building 5 on attached map
Loading dock drains discharge to outfall 2 shown on site map
Add 14 additional parking spaces in front of Building 3 and Building 5
On the south side of the property across from the tank farm we added a 26' x 20' metal
building on a slab that houses a Hydroblasting unit for tank cleaning. The unit has some
bypass water which is routed towards the storm drain via a hose. This is to eliminate pooling
water in the building. This water is city water which is not contaminated with exception of
draining onto the floor. (drawing is attached for location)
On the west side of the property behind warehouse 2 and warehouse 3 a gravel area with
outside storage was added. This is an area to store unused equipment and piping.
