GOOD MORNING LAUREN,
THANK YOU GREATLY FOR YOUR CORRESPONDENCE & THE INFORMATION PROVIDED.
I HOPE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION PROVIDES CLARITY:
1. YES, CCA WILL BE THE "SOLE" CHEMICAL WE TREAT WITH. WE WILL BE TREATING WOODED FENCE POST FOR
THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY.
2. OTHER PRODUCTS & MATERIALS ON SITE THAT MAYBE EXPOSED TO STORMWATER CONTACT:
A. THE ONLY ONE THAT COMES TO MIND WILL BE DIESEL FUEL. THE FORKLIFTS USED ON THE YARD WILL BE
DIESEL POWERED, HOWEVER WE WILL NOT STORE BULK FUEL ON SITE. WE WILL USE A 110 GALLON TANK
IT IS MOUNTED ON A PICK— UP TRUCK) TO BRING FUEL TO THE SITE & FILL THE LIFTS.
B. FORK LIFT MAINTENANCE: OUR LIFTS ARE MAINTAINED QUATERLY VIA CAROLINA INDUSTRIAL TRUCKS.
NOTE THEY BRING ALL SUPPLIES WITH THEM TO THE SITE ( MOTOR OIL/ GREASE) & TAKE ALL "DRAINED"
MOTOR OIL WITH THEM FOR DISPOSAL.

Subject: NCS000595 Permit Application Update
Good morning David,
Tom Poe has been transitioned to Dam Safety, a different program in DEMLR. I am taking over your permitting process.
The purpose of this email is to make sure I have the correct information and that we are on the same page.
As far as I understand things, your permit application and payment have been received and logged in. Tom started the
review of your application and made the note that since your facility is still in the process of being built, it would be
difficult for you to provide an inventory of products and materials that will be onsite and potentially exposed to
stormwater contact and/or runoff. There was another note that Tom was told the primary chemical expected to be used
at the site is CCA, are you able to confirm this?
Your permit is in the drafting process and will be my #1 priority next week. From there, a working/preliminary draft will
go to region for review and comments. After that, there is a public notice period of 30 days. During this time, you will
have the opportunity to review and comment on the "draft" permit. After a period of at least 15 more days, we can
issue the "final" permit. If deemed necessary during the drafting process, I and a regional DEQ employee will visit for an
"inspection," the purpose being to help us better reflect the needs of your facility and associated stormwater impacts in
your individual permit.
I completely understand you have done things by the book here and we appreciate your integrity. I am hoping to make
this transition as easy and transparent as possible while working to get you your permit. Please let me know if you have
any questions or need any information from me.
