Protect Description: Replace Bridge No. 550223 over South Fork of Skennah Creek on SR 1134
(Stamey Mountain Road),
AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW
Review of HPO quad maps, HPO GIS information, historic designations roster, and indexes was
undertaken on February 17, 2014. Based on this review, there are no existing NR, SL, LD, DE, or SS
properties in the Area of Potential Effects, which is 300' fiom each end of the bridge and 75' from the
centerline each way. Southwest of the bridge is a manufactured home under fifty years of age and a one-
story frame house built 1955 based on Macon County GIS/Tax information. The frame house over fifty
years of age is unremarkable, has undergone multiple material replacements and is not eligible for
National Register listing. Southeast of the bridge is a one-story church built in 1957. The church is
unremarkable and not eligible for NR listing. A one -and -a -half story frame house built c. 1921 is
northwest of the bridge and is not eligible for National Register listing. Bridge No. 223 is not eligible for
National Register listing. There are no National Register listed or eligible properties within the APE. If
design plans chance, additional review will be required.
