SANITARY SEWER NARRATIVE
PUBLIC SANITARY SEWER TO SERVE SAM'S XPRESS CAR WASH
SOUTH HORNER BOULEVARD
SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA
LEE COUNTY
CITY OF SANFORD
MAY 28, 2019
Sam's Xpress is proposing to construct a new car wash and fuel station facility in the City of
Sanford. The proposed site is located on South Horner Boulevard across from the intersection with
Dogwood Street. The site was previously developed as a manufacturing facility that has been
demolished.
The City of Sanford has an existing 8" public water main that bisects the ex=sting property. As part
of the redevelopment of the site Sam's Xpress is proposing to remove and replace the existing
sanitary sewer line to avoid conflicts with the proposed fuel station canopy and other proposed site
features. There are existing sanitary sewer manholes within the property at South Horner Boulevard
and at Dalrymple Street that will remain.
Sam's Xpress is proposing to install a new 8" ductile iron (3811f) sanitary sewer main through the
property to replace the existing sanitary sewer that crosses the site.
The anticipated flow for the project is 500gpd as calculated below:
Service Station — 2 water closets at 250gpd/wc = 500gpd

M. Certification Statement:
I Paul M Weeks Jr., P.E. certify to the best of my knowledge that the addition of
the volume of wastewater to be permitted in this project has been evaluated along the route to the receiving
wastewater treatment facility and that the flow from this project is not anticipated to cause any capacity
related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station en route to the receiving
treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned improvements
identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis has been performed in accordance
with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This certification applies to
those items listed above in Sections I and II plus all attached planning assessment addendums for which I
am the responsible party. Signature of this form certifies that the receiving collection system or treatment
works has adequate capacity to transport and treat Ow pWosed new wastewater.
