For sanitary sewer mains greater than eighteen inches (18") in diameter, manholes shall be a minimum of 5'-0" in diameter. Dual DIP's are required when the depth exceeds 18 feet. Encasement of these pipes may be required. 9. Rim elevations shall be at grade in streets & parking lots. 10. Rim elevations along outfalls shall be a minimum of 3' above existing ground elevation. If the outfall is located within the flood plain, rim elevations shall be 2' above the 100 -year flood elevation (While still maintaining the 3' above the existing ground elevation minimum requirement). The 100 -year flood elevation shall be noted on the construction drawings. 11. Flat top manholes shall be used when the height from the ground to the top of the manhole exceeds 4 feet. 12. All services shall tie into the manhole at the bench. 13. Manholes located in the floodplain shall have watertight iron castings. 14. Pipes entering MH will be grouted inside and out. 15. See detail 732.01 for typical invert shaping. 16. Service laterals into existing manholes to be core drilled and booted. 17. For watertight applications, place butyl rubber between frame and cone. 18. All banded connections shall be double banded. For pipe connections 12" and larger, 2 sets of bands shall be required. 19. Lubricate the following: Pipe exterior, boot interior, boot exterior, S.S. bands (Top & bottom) 20. Place manhole opening over the effluent line. 21. When vents are permitted, vent every 3rd manhole, not exceeding 1,000 LF between vents. Vents shall be placed a minimum of 24" above the 100 Yr. BFE. See detail 732.10. 22.
