NCDWQ Past-Track Application Attachment— Project Narrative
Project: Glow Academy—New School Building
Owner: GLOW NC, Inc.
Engineer: CLH Design, PA
Date: 03-July-2018
A new private elementary school is proposed at 2100 Sunglow Drive in Wilmington, NC. A
gravity sewer extension will be required to serve the new facilities.
The school building will be sized for 725 students. Applying the"Elementary School"
wastewater design flow rate of 12-gpd per student, the expected Average Daily Flow for the
facility is 8,700-gpd.
The nearest public sewer, an existing 8-in gravity sewer main is owned and operated by CFPUA,
and exists in Manly Avenue to the west of the proposed school site. The system eventually flows
to CFPUA's James A. Loughlin Wastewater Treatment Facility (NC0023965).
An 8-in gravity sewer system is proposed to convey wastewater from the school building to the
existing public gravity sewer in Manly Avenue.
No wetlands or streams exist within 100-ft of the proposed sewer lines or pump station.
