Dear Ms. Kendrick:
On July 1, 2019, Brian Lambe from the Wilmington Regional Office of the Division of Energy, Mineral,
and Land Resources (DEMLR), conducted a compliance evaluation inspection for NC Division of Parks &
Recreation Hammock's Beach located in Hammocks Beach Road, Onslow County, North Carolina. The
site drains to Intracoastal Waterway, which is currently classified as Class SA HOW Waters in the White
Oak River Basin.
The following observations were noted during the DEMLR inspection (please see the attached
addendum for additional information about your permit):
1) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP)
A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP) has not been developed, recorded, and properly
implemented. Please comply within one year.

Qualitative monitoring has not been conducted and recorded in accordance with permit requirements.
One sampling event should be conducted in the second half of the year.

The site is well maintained. Compliance is needed with permit requirements.
Boat washing is an issue that will need to be addressed. Please do not hesitate to contact this office
regarding potential solutions.
Site has three State Stormwater permits as listed in the inspection report.
