Sediment loss 1-3804 Rowan Co
Dave,
We have had a sediment loss that was discovered at Site 2 on the 1-3804 section of 1-85 project in Rowan Co.
Estimated 30-40 buckets (5 gal size) loss thru a pipe. The JS is a dry channel at this point and the sediment movement
had stopped short approx 50 ft from Cold Water Creek. This appears to be a cumulative loss into he area that was
covered with heavy vegetation. Once it was removed the loss was discovered.
They have been advised to repair/stabilize the inlet area and clean up the accumulated sediment from inside the pipe
and the JS channel.
