On behalf of Craig Freeman of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (cc’d), RK&K is starting the
project development, environmental and engineering studies for the improvements to Ramsey Street from NC
24/Grove Street to 2.3 miles north of I-295 north of Slocomb Road (STIP Project U-4403).

We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in evaluating potential
environmental impacts of the project including recommendation of alternates to be studied. Your comments
will be used in the preparation of a federally funded Categorical Exclusion, prepared in accordance with the
rd
National Environmental Policy Act. Please respond by October 23 so that your comments can be used in the
development of this project. A copy of the location map is attached.
