This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0004115. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is not required. This was a follow up to the 8/14/2018 non-compliant inspection. Craig Galloway, Bob Barr and Danielle Hunter assisted with the inspection. The tertiary filters are in the process of being repaired. Weirs were clear of algae buildup. The effluent sampler is now set to flow proportional. The composite sample location will be moved to the effluent wet well which is beyond the last treatment unit. The rusted grates over the EQ basin will be replaced. The small crack between the digester and EQ wall will be monitored and repaired when possible. The airlift pumps in the EQ basin will be replaced with submersible pumps. An acceptance letter from the wastewater treatment plant agreeing to accept residuals from Champion Hills is still needed. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ On 6/25/19 Bev Price and Dan Boss conducted an additional follow up compliance evaluation inspection. The tertiary filter system has been repaired; a modified and improved backwash system is now in place and functional. The composite sample location is now beyond all treatment units. The EQ basin now has submersible pumps. An acceptance letter has been received from MSD for residuals from Champion Hills WWTP. The replacement safety grates for the EQ basin have been requested from the vendor. One solenoid valve will be replaced. Two nozzles will be replaced. The air scour will be repositioned to below the media rather than on top to allow for more effective cleaning. Backwash pumps have been ordered. *6/25/19: The tertiary filters are now online and fully functional.
