2004. Black Forest on Lake James, LLC is a 56 lot community situated on approximately
610 acres with approximately 37,202 linear feet of shoreline on Lake James in McDowell
County, North Carolina.
We are requesting permission to place 515 linear feet of riprap stabilization and 14 boat slips
along with 1 canoe launch for a (total of 15 facilities) for use by non-waterfront lot owners
within the community. This stabilization will be done from the water with a barge and
therefore there will be no disturbance to the buffer. There will be no dredging associated
with these facilities.
Apprication is being made to Duke Power Company for the required FERC permit to
construct these boatslips. We ask that you advise us, by return mail, of any comment that
you may have concerning the boatslips or of any permits your authority may require. Your
comments are a requirement of the FERC application process. If you have any questions or
need additional information please do not hesitate to contact me at (704) 382-2695. Thank
you for your cooperation and prompt response.
Sincerely,
