QuadMap.............................................................................. Aerial Street Map ............................................. GENERAL This project is identified as the Prince Street Sanitary Sewer Replacement for the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA). This project involves the design and construction of approximately 250 LF of 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) sanitary sewer to replace the 4 inch existing common service. The project is located on the west side of the 107 and 109 Barnes Street properties and traverses west, along the southern property line of 110 Barnes Street to a proposed manhole Iocated at the end of Prince Street. The existing sewer is in poor condition and does not meet OWASA material and size standards for sewer mains; the replacement of the existing 4 inch common service is deemed a priority for the OWASA. 2. EXISTING SITE AND PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS The project is located in the Town of Carrboro on an existing OWASA sanitary sewer easement located on private property. The existing 4-inch sewer provides sanitary sewer service to two residences, is undersized, in poor condition and does not meet OWASA material and size standards for sewer mains. The construction will take place within the OWASA easement between Barnes and Prince Streets and in a wooded OWASA sewer easement along Prince Street. Additional easements will not be obtained for this project. Site conditions are mostly wooded with some areas consisting of grassy lawns. Since this project replaces an existing sewer, additional flow will not be added to the system. 3 dL 4 C) BROADS T- A)v Ln- IS 0809SN9.-g s 0 04Y 6yos ld (770.- f" . 'Y < I S,, V ON 17 IV Unn i Lr" n b. This project replaces an existing 4-inch common service with a new 8-inch ductile iron main. The existing common service will be removed and the proposed 8-inch main will be installed in the same casement. No additional flow will be added during this project. It is McKim & Creed's understanding there is no permit number available for the existing sanitary sewer schmiuled for replacement.
