Treatment Plant located at 801 Greenlee Road, Marion NC there has been no changes to the system
and I have attached a copy of the land application permit to show how the solids that are generated at

2.3. Water Treatment
The City's water treatment plant is located on Old Greenlee Road (SR 1214), just west of the
City limits. The facility was originally constructed in 1955, and expanded in 1985. The rated
treatment capacity of the plant is 4.0 MGD. Treatment involves conventional treatment
processes consisting of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and chlorination.
Sludge lagoons were constructed in 1987 and a back-up generator was installed in 1988. The
treated water pumps also have a combined capacity of 4.0 MGD. The plant has undergone only
a few minor upgrades over the past 10 years. See Figure 2-2, below.
