Please accept this letter as written notification of an offsite sediment release outside permitted limits of
disturbance into Streaml, Wetland 27 and Stream 22 of the Line 446 Project. These areas experienced
high intensity rain that resulted in offsite sedimentation from 6/7119-6/9/19. Due to inaccessibility and
flooding concerns, these areas were unable to be investigated and initially reported to NCDEQ verbally
and via email until 6111119.
Offsite sediment impacts and cleanup are the following:
• Stream 1 was impacted with sediment starting at Station 472+75 to 474+00. Sedimentation
varied from a skim coat to 12". Accumulated sediment is being removed via shovels and buckets
to minimize impacts to existing vegetation.
• Wetland 27/Stream 22 were both impacted at Station 115+50. Sedimentation varies from a
skim coat to 4". This area is permitted to be open cut for a future pipe crossing. The deposited
material is being removed via shovels and buckets to minimize impacts to existing vegetation.
